961 Quad Detent Tuning Kit The kit contains 8 detents, 4 springs and 6 screws. There are 4 different colors of detents, White, Purple, Black and Red. Each color is a different size. The White ones are the stock rear ones and are considered Zero’s in size. The Purple’s are .010” smaller and are called 10’s. Next are the Black ones, which are .015” smaller and are called 15’s. These are the stock size front detents. Lastly are the Red ones, which are .020” smaller and called 20’s. The greater the number the larger the paint used. For most paint, .688, you will use the Black one’s in the front. For smaller paint use the Purple one’s in the front. For larger paint use the Red one’s in the front. The White one’s should always be used in the rear detents. You should not have to stretch or alter the springs. The included springs are in case of loss or damage to your existing springs.
