Trouble Shooting – MYTH Regulator The MYTH is engineered to the highest standards and specifications using quality high grade components. All of our regulators are 100% tested and inspected in the USA. In the course of active play and wear and tear we have identified maintenance needs that may occur. 1. Over pressurizing- spiking Diagnosis – The piston seat is either damaged, worn, dirty, or scratched Solution - Replace the complete piston assembly & a seat retainer 2. Will not recharge, shoot down Diagnosis A - Worn piston seat or seat retainer Diagnosis B - Incorrect main spring- Output pressure too low Solution – You may need to replace one or all of the following; piston assembly, seat retainer, or main spring 3. Leak at low end safety vent behind gauge Diagnosis - Worn, damaged, or improperly lubed high side 0-ring or worn seat retainer Solution - Replace: high side 0-ring and/or seat retainer if it is worn & lube properly. 4. Leak through fill nipple Diagnosis - Dirty or worn check strut 0-ring Diagnosis - Fill nipple may be installed too deep into pocket (no strut movement) Solution - Replace check strut assembly or adjust the fill nipple installation 5. Can I swap the fill nipple and gauges from one port to another? Answer- No. The ports on the MYTH regulators are dedicated ports for each component and should not be switched. 6. How can I convert a 3k MYTH reg to a 4.5k MYTH reg? Answer - You can convert a 3k MYTH regulator to a 4.5k MYTH regulator by replacing the burst disc, gauge, piston and seat retainer but our recommendation is that it is more cost effective to upgrade to a NEW 4.5k MYTH regulator rather than pay to upgrade to all of the 4.5K components.
