SCM-III INSTRUCTIONS 980-EX/VK 981-MERLIN/AC 982-MATRIX 983-ANGEL 984-TIMMY 985-BUSHY 985-P-PROMASTER The SCM-III is a pressure-compensating LPR and has an extremely fast recharge time and response time. There are a few things you should know before you use the SCM. When you first install the regulator, it will need a break-in period of approximately 2000 rounds. When the regulator was assembled, it was tested and set to approximately 70 psi. The regulator is sensitive. When adjusting, do not over adjust. The Merlin/AC style can be used on any marker that uses a 1/8 NPT threaded fitting. Do not use grease of any kind. This regulator is designed to use our Extreme Lube. Some lubes will swell the buna and urethane o-rings. If you lube the SCM and your marker regularly, it will give you years of use. Do not use bottle o-rings. They are a different hardness and can cause damage. AKA has o-ring rebuild kits for each of the SCMs. Call 317-6317200 or go to our web store to order: [email protected]. Lubrication: Put 1 or 2 drops of AKA Extreme Lube into the ASA and cycle the marker 20-30 times. If you are not able to use oil due to the lubrication requirements of your marker’s manufacturer, remove the SCM adjuster cap. Remove the spring and piston. Put 1 drop of oil on the SCM’s brass internals. (DO NOT remove brass internals from the SCM body.) Lubricate the piston o-ring. Re-install and reset LPR pressure to the required pressure.
